Diablo III

Diablo III

The ever popular game Diablo III has been changed ever so slightly for the better. The amazing graphics and quests will remain the same, but death will not be quite as bad as before. The town will still be a form of sanctuary where you can buy healing potions, armour and weapons from the residents who live there. Dungeons, adventures, and a different world all together exist outside of the town where you will need to go to complete your quests. Whereas previously whenever you died you would reawaken back in town, the new Diablo III will now feature various checkpoints throughout your quests. As you walk through the dungeons and castles, you will come across these places which will then be saved accordingly.  When and if you die, the game will continue at your last checkpoint and you no longer need to start back in town. When your game resumes, you will start again at the last place that you checked in with a little bit of life left, which will gradually build its way up giving you a chance to fulfil your quest. This new feature to the game is designed to enhance your experience as the previous death only served to break up the excitement of the adventure. Thus far, the new death in Diablo III has been greeted with rave reviews, with players happy with the change.

Epic Games has done it again. The Gear of War 2 for Xbox 360 was announced in February 2008, at the Game Developers Conference. Set for release in November 2008, Gears of War 2 will be published by Microsoft Game Studios. The game is a tactical third-person shooter video game with both single and multiplayer modes. As the sequel to acclaimed best-seller Gears of War, the new version is heavily upgraded and includes lots of additional features. The new game won several awards at the E3 2008 presentation, including IGN’s Overall Best Shooting Game and Overall Best Graphics Technology of E3 2008.

The Gears of War 2 game picks up where the first version left off, just six months after the gruesome battle with the Locust Horde. The new game version has higher stakes and more risks, creating a very intense gaming environment. With a “Mature” rating, Gears of War 2 is categorized as a violent game with some strong language. The unparalleled live action scenario for the Xbox 360 is well worth buying the game. The special offer pre-order price at present is just US$60.00.

For those of you not in the know-how as to what is a PSP game, well google it and you should get some interesting results ranging from the game itself to a like to one of Barista’s concoctions – why, I have no idea. Anyway, the PSP game Dr JR : The root of evil is actually a sequel to an earlier version, one which follows a similar storyline. With a hero or a group of heroes, naturally we must have a villain. We do so in the form of the Furi, a hulk look-alike, with all the graphics to make him stand out as one. Death Jr may look cool and all that, but the bottom line is that this game still has a few kinks to iron out. Remember that this is a sequel, and what is surprising to many is that it still retains the ‘bad design’ flaw yet. One would have thought that with a sequel, at least this one would have been reworked over, but that sadly though is not the case.

Despite the bad design, the audio is just great, it has the ‘goldilocks’ effect, not too loud to distract or too mellow, just right. The storyline is all about how death Jr and his friends managed to unleash the villain and what they do to correct this mistake. There are quite a variety of weapons available to help you tackle the challenges posed in this game, from that of the flaming toilet paper to the hamster with a c4. Keep in mind that there are 19 levels to this game and all through, you can try to upgrade your weapons as you go along.
This game can be played in the mono mode, that is by yourself or with a friend, either way, the storyline is set and all you would have to do is to utilize the weaponry and take care of Furi.

Frankly though, this game is good for a moment’s laugh and not more than that. There are way too many flaws in the game and the design should be one of the first things that should have been tackled head on. Anyway, you can try out this game for fun and entertainment wise it is quite good.

Games these days require the player to be versatile with the concepts of the game at the very least and this just happens to be one of them. We have all read the book, seen the movie and now it is in the form of the game that we can play with.
The game as it is follows the base story very closely but the problem is that the inbound complexities of the storyline, while amusing in the movie part only serves to make this game a bit hard to swallow at the least. In order to play this game, one must endure a course in hard spies closely followed by an in-depth understanding of who Bourne is and what he stands for.

But the real let down is that this game fails to take in all of the storylines, touching the main story here and there. The end result is that with this game, one is never sure whether they are playing the Bourne conspiracy or a watered down version of a cheap spy thriller. With complex plots being the only thing in common with the movie and the book, this game has been a let down on so many fronts that it is not really worth playing it. One can probably get better entertained by watching the movie for the second time or the third time, instead.

The Pirates of the Caribbean are all set to make a reappearance of sorts in the game ‘Pirates of the burning sea’. These days the games include more graphics than you would take care to note, with many of the characters ending up 6 feet under, so as to speak. This game is not all that different with the genre being more about Pirates.

The game is set in the 1720’s and could well be mistaken for a take on the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ series. All the players control their own destinies and their main occupation in this game is to prey on other hapless ships that are foolish enough to cross their paths. One can also join as a captain of one of the navies if the buccaneer lifestyle is a bit too rich for them. As a buccaneer one can choose to operate under the orders of ones sovereign to attack the enemy’s merchant ships or be a free trader trying to seek profit anyway he can. The last part is a more apt description for most of the buccaneers on whom this game is based upon.

The software requirements of this game are quite a mouthful with fast processor and a broadband connection being some of them. One can surmise that since these are some of the basic requirements, the game would be utilizing some of the high-end graphics in this game. The ‘Pirates of the burning sea’ would be available in the digital format quite soon. One of the highlights of this game is the option for allowing users to add their own content, making this game all the more personal. Pirates of the burning sea seem to be headed in the right direction, after all.
